vernal virtues herb walk: medicinal plants of Michigan
Thursday, September 24, 2026
6:00 to 8:30 pm
This spring, summer and fall, please join me and spend a few hours looking at a slew of amazingly virtuous plants growing in Ada, MI... On our walk we'll be wandering around the lawns, fields, and woods at Roselle Park to explore the medicinal virtues, identification, folklore and preparation of many of the common trees, "weeds" and wildflowers we pass by every day.
The information presented will be both specific and practical, based on jim's 25+ years experience in gathering, preparing, and using herbal remedies, and provide a basis for participants to incorporate what they have learned into usable skills with which to maintain and restore health. At each walk we'll look at the medicinal plants that are in their prime at the moment, which will vary from season to season. We'll go far beyond just listing "uses" of herbs and cover plants as they relate to the larger practice of herbalism.
