wild roots & fall foliage: medicinal plants of Michigan
Tuesday, September 15, 2026
5:00 to 7:30 pm
This winter, spring, summer and fall, please join me and spend a few hours looking at a slew of amazingly virtuous plants growing in Sterling Heights, MI... On our walk we'll be wandering around the lawns, fields, and woods along the banks of the Clinton River at Dodge Park to explore the medicinal virtues, identification, folklore and preparation of many of the common trees, "weeds" and wildflowers we pass by every day. The information presented will be both specific and practical, based on jim's 25+ years experience in gathering, preparing, and using herbal remedies, and provide a basis for participants to incorporate what they have learned into usable skills with which to maintain and restore health. At each walk we'll look at the medicinal plants that are in their prime at the moment, which will vary from season to season.

Each walk is $40, and includes extensive handouts on ethical wildcrafting, medicine making, on some of the plants discussed.
